Position Cost Averaging Support

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use The PCA on more than 1 computer? Yes, you can install the PCA on more than 1 computer. You will need to use the email address from your order and your registration number to register both copies.

How can I get tech support ? Simply send an email to info@investingsystems.com and we will be happy to help. Please put PCA support in the Subject line of your email.

How do I Register the software? When you purchase the PCA program, your order number is the registration number and becomes active in our database immediately. The software will ask you to register the first time you run it. You can register the program by clicking Help, About/Register in the tools menu at the top.

You can get your registration number from your email receipt for the purchase. Your registration number is the ORDER NUMBER ON YOUR RECEIPT.

Please be very careful to register with the same email address you used when you ordered. The email address and the order number in our database must match for the program to function. The Company Name is a required field, however you can use your name if you prefer.

PCA is asking for a username and password, where do I get those? You must create your own username and password. Please write them down as we do not have access to them. PCA supports multiple users and each will have a different username and password. This is not the same as the registration info.

I am getting a message "Can Not Connect to the Internet" If you have Norton Firewall, below are instructions to set the permissions. If you have a different firewall, the steps should be similiar.

Here is the page that shows exactly how to set Norton to allow the PCA access to the internet.

Occasionally, Norton Personal Firewall won't allow an application you're trying to run access to the Internet.  You'll need to grant this application access before the program will function properly.  Do the following:

Open Norton Personal Firewall and select the Status & Settings tab.

Highlight Personal Firewall and towards the bottom-right corner, click the Configure button.

Select the Programs tab.

Program Control monitors your Internet-related applications (browsers, e-mail clients, etc.).  When these programs try to access the Internet, Norton Personal Firewall either allows them access or not.  Allowed access depends on Norton's settings.

In the Manual Program Control section, verify Position Cost Averaging is in the list, it should be at the top If it's not listed, click the Add button.

Select it and choose Permit All, then click OK

Please see this page for exact details and screenshots that will walk you through the process:

If you have a different firewall the steps will be similar. Basically you will need to open your firewall software and add Position Cost Averaging to the permitted programs. This allows the PCA to retrieve quotes from the internet.

WINDOWS FIREWALL SETTINGS
