The PCA for Windows Online Manual

Optimizing the User Settings in PCA

In the PCA System you can "Optimize" the settings for historical simulations as well as Actual Holdings. THIS FEATURE SHOULD BE USED WITH EXTREME CAUTION!!!

There are some advantages to having this feature, mostly for simulation. In order to use the optimizer for actual holdings you would need a considerable price history already in the system(at least a year), otherwise the optimized settings would not be very reliable.

The other issue with optimizing is that you can only "optimize" one setting at a time, thus making every subsequent "optimized setting" reliant on the previous ones.

Now, on to How it works...

In the optimizer you can enter parameters for minimum dollars to trade, minimum shares to trade, Buy and sell resistance (buy in the From cell, and sell in the to cell) and the beginning cash reserve. You can also adjust the increments that the PCA will use in the optimization process.

Once it stops running you click "Apply" and then return to the simulator or equity manager screen and click the "re-calculate" button.

Enjoy the optimizer and use it with CAUTION.
